To all out loyal clients and patients,

We want you to know that we are doing all we can to protect both our staff and our clients during the Coronavirus outbreak. As we all know, this is a rapidly evolving situation. The following is current as of March 18, 2020. We will make adjustments as needed. Please see our Facebook Page Johnstown Animal Hospital for updates to our schedule. If you have an appointment please call from your car and we will let you know when to come in. We are having clients go directly into the exam room and then we will check you out in the room and then you can go directly back to your car. If you need to pick up medications or food please call ahead to order and pay over the phone and call when you arrive and we will bring it out to you. We are completely disinfecting the exam rooms between appointments. This protocol will limit everyone’s exposure but also takes a little more time and will also tie up the phones more. Please be patient and we will deal with everyone as quickly as we can. We will stay open as long as we are able to. We will probably be limiting hours as events evolve. Please see our Facebook page for updates. We are currently not scheduling any routine surgeries. This is subject to change. We will continue to do surgeries that are medically necessary. IDEXX Reference Laboratories has developed a real-time PCR test to detect SARS-CoV-2 based on the published genetic sequences of the virus from the human outbreak.. IDEXX is actively monitoring for emergence of COVID-19 infection in canine, feline, and equine specimens submitted to us for respiratory RealPCR panels. To date, we have seen no evidence of SARS-CoV-2 virus in these clinical specimens, even in those specimens positive for canine respiratory coronavirus. Please continue to monitor our website and Facebook page for updates. Together we can all get through this. Everyone stay safe and take care of each other and our pets.
